Accomplishing God’s Will For Your Life

Accomplishing God’s Will For Your Life

This is one of those sensitive subjects where myself and others have gotten a little confused and bent out of shape at time.  I didn’t have a plan or track to run for God’s will for my life for a long time.  There were some shifts that needed to take place in my life in order for me to start living an abundant life through Christ.

First Step To Accomplishing God’s Will is To Ask and Know His Will

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Mathew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

God is omnipresent and all knowing, there is nothing that escapes him or that he does not know about. When your pursue and seek God things will become clearer and you will begin to know what you should do.

"business bible and breakfast

Mathew 6:33 “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.”

John 13: 17 “Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”

BUT! When you know what it is you are to do be doing and not doing it that’s practically sabotaging yourself. That is going to tear you up in inside. How do I know? Cause year ago instead of doing the things I know I needed to do I would get high instead. Sin leads to death and destruction and that’s what I experience and by the grace of God I’m still here.

In fact, God wants you to win in life and succeed so bad check out what the bible says about not doing what you know you should do.

James 4:17 “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”

That just blew my mind, how much God wants us to succeed and do well that if we don’t its like, “hey bud did you know how much I love that not living an amazing life that I want you to have is sin?” – at least that is how I felt.

I think we all already know principle so I’m not sharing anything that is news to you here, this is one of those common sense verses. But interesting hearing this come from God. Not everyone has this image or perception of God desiring them to do well.  Some people from bad experiences at church and over zealous in your face jesus freaks have unfortunately distorted some views of God. No worries, today’s post as you can already tell is filled with Biblical truths that will tear down some of our previous perceptions of who God is and what he wants for us, his kids.

What Does the Bible Say About You Succeeding?

The reality is that God is a good God and that he has amazing plans for you in fact. It’s a promise that’s made to you!

Caution: First I am not a prosperity Gospel preacher person and super 1 sided on this subject. I do believe all things are possible for those who believe. Biblical success is simply progression of God’s plan for you life.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Philippians 4:13I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Psalm 37:4Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Proverbs 16:3Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

Deuteronomy 28:18 “The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.”

Philipians 1:6 “He who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it”

Where Has God Been Faithful in The Past In Your Life?

If your answer is “he hasn’t, there’s something else you may want to look at, its possible you and your relationship with god is not on the best ground it could be your angry at God, bitter, have something/someone to forgive, or innocently not aware of what he has done for you. In which case just say a simple prayer and ask God to show you, prayer is easy its just talking to God.

Why do I want you thinking about this? Because it requires faith and belief to walk out what you been called to do. Recalling the past times that he has been faithful to you makes its easier to believe and have faith that you can indeed win with Christ. When you have seen something done before you can believe easier. That’s why Jesus said in John 20:29 “Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

IF we are not in a state of expectation and faith its hard to believe you will win again. But if your like oh god has come through a million times before he will certainty come through this time.

Revelations 12:11 “Our brothers conquered him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not cling to their lives even in the face of death.”

What struck me as interesting here is “they did not cling to their lives even in the face of death.” They believed so much that they didn’t care about their lives, their past, anything else but overcoming. Our confidence is in Christ and the finished work he has done. We need to rest in confidence that Christ is and will take care of us. Now the interesting part is “they did not cling to their lives…” when I read that I felt or the past.

See sometimes what we know and have done in the past is comfortable, feels safe and secure and all that but your staying small. In order to succeed and progress forward into the future we must let go of the past to make room for our future.

Picture this as your future a great big giant gift box, so big that you need 2 hands to carry it. Now I have this gift I want to give you, but if you can’t carry it how can you have it? When we hang on to the past its like walking around carrying a smelly garbage bag in one hand and now trying to carry a precious new gift as well? Pretty freakin hard and the reality is that trash from the garbage bag is going to stink up your new gift.

So now if you can remember the times in your life where God has come through. Maybe things weren’t supposed to work out and some how they did, maybe you got a good medical report, you got your peace back, money came in from an unexpected source to meet some of your needs.

Maybe your in the midst of that now. I want you to know that our Bible says, in Philipians 4:6 “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

See, “When we study God’s Word, a pattern emerges. We learn that God never changes and never lies (Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29). We learn through Scripture that God has never failed in the past (Isaiah 51:6). He was always true to His Word as He worked in the lives of the ancient Israelites. When He said He would do something, He did it (Numbers 11:23; Matthew 24:35). We begin to build trust upon His proven character. We can trust that God will be true to Himself. He will never cease acting like God. He will never cease being sovereign, being holy, or being good (1 Timothy 6:15; 1 Peter 1:16).

We learn through our own history that He has never failed us, either. One command God often gave the Israelites was “Remember” (Deuteronomy 8:2; Isaiah 46:9). When they remembered all God had done for tgods-faithfulnesshem, they could more easily trust Him for the future. We need to intentionally remember all the ways God has provided for us and delivered us in the past. Keeping a prayer journal can help with this. When we recall the ways God has answered our prayers, it equips us to continue asking and expecting answers. When we come to Him in prayer, we know that He always hears us (1 John 5:14; Psalm 34:15). He provides what we need (Philippians 4:19). And He will always make everything work together for our good when we trust Him with it (Romans 8:28). We learn to trust God’s future faithfulness by remembering His past faithfulness.”

Today I have a simple prayer for you: “God please show me what to with my life, I want a life filled with you. Lord help me to let go of my past, help to forgive those who have wronged me and those I have wronged, help to believe in your faithfulness. Lord help me believe in you, your character and that your promises are true in my life, give me a hunger and desire to know you more and live empowered out of the relationship I have with you, I pray this in faith, in Jesus name.”
