I’m talking about using craigslist for your home based business.  This is not the way you would think though.  Most people have seen my training on how to use craigslist for network marketing.  Today is much simpler.  Bottom line is whatever you are doing you want to be on the phone talking to people.  So here is how you do it.

Free MLM Leads

Step 1 - Go to www.craigslist.org

Step 2 - Go to for sale section and Click “business”

Step 3 - Call people with business opportunities and businesses for sale

It’s best to do this in your local area as I always prefer to build locally.  You can do it where ever you would like to build a team.  You simply call the listing and say

” Hey this is_______, I saw your posting on craigslist about your business______.  I’m an entrepreneur here in the _______ area and in the process of expanding my business locally and nationally.  Whenever I do this I personally talent scout for small business owners and was wondering if you are open to looking into another opportunity?” 

Now don’t just send them your presentation right away, qualify them!

I’ve covered what to say before in previous posts and if you are part of my personal team and working with our home based business you have our team training site.  For those of you not in our team I would encourage you to looking into sponsoring courses that teaches exactly what to say so you don’t butcher your shot with free mlm leads.

Which is Better?

Today we’re talking about what has historically and statistically built the strongest network marketing teams and businesses.  WARNING, some of you may feel a little uncomfortable with this but it is the simplest and in my opinion best model to duplicate.  In network marketing the focus needs to be on others.  Your system needs to be easy to follow, teach, do, and be fun in order for your business to grow deep without you at times.  However, you are the driving force and what your team sees you do, they will also do.  Well you want to focus on what makes money and duplicates.  So do I focus online mlm recruiting or offline mlm recruiting?  Monkey see Monkey do!

1. Place to Live

2. Television/Computer/Person

Ok which means everyone has the same resources and time (we are all given 24 hours).  Now what we do with our time is going to dictate our level of success or failure. Every person has access to build this business online and offline.

So Which is Better, Online of Offline MLM Recruiting?

The simplest and best way to get good duplicating teams a network marketing company in my humble opinion is to do home meetings.  But Ron, you use the internet to recruit? Yes, your darn right I do and it works.

Here’s a secret I’ve found…

When I recruit a person online, unless its from facebook, that new recruit usually thinks he/she has to do the business the same way (not always the case).  So they take the internet marketing route and struggle by themselves without getting any kind of training or systems and then they eventually quit.  I usually try to talk people out of internet marketing because they think its the answer or some kind of holy grail.  If you don’t need to make money NOW then don’t talk to warm market and do internet marketing, but if you want an income now, well get on the phone and schedule a grand opening meeting at your home or place of business.  The reality is that online marketing for your mlm is a compliment to most people’s business due to the traditional success path in this industry of building offline belly to belly.  Most people do not want to become internet marketers, and I don’t want them to.  I want them to keep it simple and make money following the proven system.  We want ordinary people willing to follow a simple system to make them into extraordinary people.  However, if I have taken the time to develop a friendship with online recruits via Facebook they are much easier to help see results and checks because they are willing to do what you do.  If you connected with them on Facebook then all they know is Facebook and offline meetings and they will see success easier than someone who has been exposed to all the fancy do-dads, gurus, systems, and thingys because they have no preconceived notions on how they think they should build.  In other words, your rep is a clean pallet you can work with to develop into duplicating Leaders that teach others to become Leaders.

How Do I Know If Online MLM Recruiting is For Me?

Online recruiting is for the person that wants to add additional income and reps to their business.  However, I don’t think its for everyone.  Just like anything else there is a learning curve to go through.  In my opinion here’s who online mlm recruiting and marketing IS NOT FOR:

  • Those looking for an easy b"online mlm recruiting"utton
  • Those not willing to commit for at least 6 months
  • Inconsistent people
  • Looking to get rich quick
  • New to MLM
  • Those addicted to immediate results
  • Don’t want to be on the phone

I say this not to discourage you or detour you from pursing online mlm recruiting but to show you that right now the offline system you have works and that Online MLM marketing is an additional tool you can use to grow your business.  Its not a requirement.

When am I Ready for Online MLM Recruiting?

Online MLM Recruiting is really for leaders.  (Only exception is Facebook prospecting, which everyone and anyone can/should do.)  The key to getting people to follow you and want to work with you online is to offer them immense value.

Here’s the million dollar tip in this post for online MLM Marketing.  If you can give your prospects so much value that they feel guilty for not paying for the information, you’ll create an online presence and fans like the big dogs in the industry.  

The online world is not the end all be all, its only a fraction of whats going on but its whats easy for everyone to see because of the nature of social media.  Realize that offline learning curve is so much easier.  When you have that level of trust and show your helping others, people will join you.  You are ready for Online MLM Recruiting if:

  • Recognized that Online MLM marketing is passive and is a long term strategy – This is something that you focus on during hours of the day that you can’t be calling people.
  • Recognized Not an Excuse to avoid being on the phone or prospecting
  • Your making money offline in MLM already (offline success is easy to transfer to online)
  • You want to create an online presence to stay in touch with your team and bring value and training to them
  • Tired of talking to friends and family
  • Want qualified people to talk to everyday
  • Want to attract leaders at your level and above to you

Get good at recruiting and know how to duplicate your results so when you do recruit people online you can lead them down the path where the will experience the best results.  If you feel you are one of the few that’s ready online MLM Recruiting, start researching systems designed to teach network marketers how to do online and offline MLM recruiting.

How To Ask for MLM Referrals

One of the most undervalued ways to build your MLM business is asking for referrals.  Did you know its actually impossible to run out of leads if you ask everyone who says no to you for referrals?  Now not everyone is going to give you referrals and that’s ok.  In today’s post I’m going to give you a script on exactly what I say to get MLM referrals.

MLM Referral Script

“hey mr prospect thank you so much for taking your time to look at what I have to offer I really appreciate uou.  I understand that this biz is not for everyone. But I know everyone knows some ppl that I can help.  Can u give me a couple names and numbers of ppl that are open to making extra money? Like who would b the first 2 ppl u share this with if u were doing this?”

“Can you think of anyone who would be good at what I do?”

“Who is the "how to ask for mlm referrals"most enthusiactic/hardworking person you know?”

“Do you know anyone who…

  • has been in this kind of business before
  • talks about having his/her own business
  • is looking for extra work or part time work
  • wears a lot of jewlry
  • has fabulous skin
  • likes herbs/ and oils
  • likes silver and gold
  • works at health club
  • recently sold or is trying to sell a business
  • has lots of friends

After this I would then ask, “what do you admire most about him or her?” So when you call this referral you say, hey mr. referral, my friend Susan gave me your number and she says you are the hardest working person she knows.” Then go into how your normally invite or simply ask if they “would be open to a lucrative side project if it doesn’t interfere with what their currently doing.”

Boom, pretty simple stuff.

3 Things Happen When You Ask for Referrals

1. You get some great referrals and recruit into your business.  Then before you sign up your new referred rep you call the person that gave you the referrals and let them know that their friend Jonny Networker is grabbing a spot and see if they want to join and have Jonny Networker on their team.  Bam you just got two reps instead of one!

2.  The person your asking starts thinking about who would be good for your business and then by thinking about this they realize they know plenty of people that would be great business builders.  They may join right there or kick it around a bit and may or may not join when you follow up in the future.

3.  They blow you off.  So what, they already said no anyway right?  So nothing to lose.  What I typically here is, “I don’t know anyone,” “if I think of anyone I’ll send em your way,” “no one I know would be interested in this,” or my favorite “yea sure I’ll ask around for you.”  Don’t worry about this one.  I always like to say, ” you know John, because of the amount of networking I do I meet a ton of people, who is your ideal client that I can refer to you!?”

Referrals are easy to get and one of the most underused methods for recruiting.  Develop a referral mindset and you’ll never run out.  The only way to fail at getting referrals is to never ask for them.  Looking to step up your recruiting game?  Check out Mary Christensen’s book, “Be A Recruiting Superstar.”

How To Talk to Your MLM Craigslist

Tod"network marketing leader, live in hawaii work from home "ay this post comes to you from beautiful Maui Hawaii where I’m working and playing.  If you saw my last post on generating leads with craigslist or you saw me featured on 1 of top mlm blogs in the world for craigslist leads I’m willing to bet my downline that you are generating leads now.  Leave a comment below if you have generated a lead with craigslist.  The video training of exactly how I generate 74 craigslist leads a day for network marketing is here.  If your new to my blog you’ll find that I want people to get into profit in MLM, generate MLM leads, and most importantly recruit MLM leads as quickly as possible.  I cut out the BS and fluff and get straight to the point of exactly how to help you.

The most important thing you can do in your network marketing business is to improve yourself and your skills.  I am constantly looking to get better.  I feel the number 1 skill you can develop is your ability to effectively communicate with people.  When you know how to prospect and close is when you can truly help others and begin your recruiting storm.  Understand that the more you do this, the better you will get.  Like everything else in the world it takes time to get good at something.  Today I’ll give you 2 scripts you can use to talk to your craigslist leads.  Handling objections and questions is another future post.

Craigslist Script #2

You need to be listening and taking notes on paper or in your google voice account.  Be confident on the phone.  You are the one that holds the power here becuase you have multimillion dollar business, you have the access and your not willing to share it with just anyone.  Become a badass on the phone.

Ron: Hey______, this is Ron Gelok calling you back from the craigslist ad your responded to about (working from home, gold and silver, whatever your ad says)

Ron: I’m glad you called, before we get to the position here I would like to learn a little about you first to see if your someone I would want to work with.

Ron: Can you tell me a little about yourself?  (take notes here, things that you have in common mention to your prospect and connect with them, maybe you are both real estate agents, who knows)

Ron: Why are you looking to make extra money? or Why do you want to work from home? ( this is the most important question to ask because you will want to use their “why” to help close them when you follow up, if you get a general response i usually say, “what do you mean” or can you elaborate on that?

Ron: What level of income are you looking to make on a monthly basis?

Ron: How serious are you about that? Tell me why. (shut up and listen, take notes)

Ron: Ok john doe, you sound like someone I could possibly work with, what I’m doing may or may not be for you.  I think the best thing for us to do is get you some information.  Now I have received hundreds of calls about this and I only have room to work with 10 people, I have short video that you need to watch to see if you qualify.  I plan on taking this video down shortly, how soon can you watch it?

John Doe: I can watch it now, i cant watch at 3:00pm. ( If they say something like next week or 2 weeks from now, kindly excuse yourself from the call by saying, “john im looking for people who are little more serious are you sure you can’t watch this today?” if no, ” thanks for your time bye bye.”

Ron: Ok great john, now I’m very busy and value my time, I’ll be calling you at 3: 30 to talk about working with us.  Keep in mind that this may or may not be for you.  Talk to you then…

Note: If you get, “what is this all about?” i usually respond, “this about you making money from home.  I need you to answer a few questions first becuase with all due respect I don’t work with just anyone and I don’t know who you are yet.  You can appreciate that right?”

The number 1 thing that allowed me to get good at prospecting and recruiting is learning from Todd Falcone.  Todd is an industry giant and is one of the few trainers that is in the trenches with us prospecting and recruiting daily.   His Little Black Book of scripts is where I learned from that has cut years off my learning curve.  Besides Ray Higdon this is the only person I follow for prospecting and recruiting in Network Marketing, he is simply the best, period.  If you notice im not a big product launch guy or promote every affiliate product in the sky, I only share what I use and what I believe will help my personal team.  Remember if you are part of my team to access our team training page and take a look at step 5.

If your wondering if you need to improve this skill ask yourself this, ” am I recruiting as fast as I would like?  have you ever felt that a conversation could have gone differently if you just knew the right things to say?  Why didn’t that person sign up with me, they sounded so promising? Trust me  I know that feeling.  If you are feeling this way, its a good sign that its time to improve your communication skills.

Today I’m revealing one of my best lead generation methods that I use every single week. I’m sharing this because it has to be the most simple way to generate online leads, period. I’ve actually hired my 11 year old kid brother to do this for me in the past. I think its best for me to share this one with you using video.

In the video below you are going to watch me do my own marketing for my primary business on craigslist. This was orginally supposed to be a team only training but I wanted to share it with you guys as well. I think we all deserve to succeed in this industry and I am going to do everything I can to help you reach your goals.

Key Tips for Craigslist Marketing

  • You can get your free google voice number here
  • I personally never post more than 10 ads at a time
  • If you get blocked from craigslist, congrats cause you are doing some serious marketing. Don’t let it bother you and just keep doing it with a different email address.
  • Do you know how to talk to people?  I still try and improve this constantly.  I learned from the legend, Industry Leader/Expert Todd Falcone.
  • When you are on the phone, be the authority. You are the business owner and you get to be selective of who you give info to about your company and most importantly who you work with.

Remember that you deserve to be successful. You owe it to yourself and your family to make this work. No one is going to hand it to you but I will certaintly help you as much as I can. Ask yourself today, “Is what I am about to do, moment by moment leading me toward my goals and dreams or away, and pick! Make a decision and make it happen.”

Home Business Leads (Part 1 of 2)

I remember when I first started generating leads on the Internet about 2 years ago.  I was so excited and I couldn’t believe I had 1 come through.  Do the victory dance right!?  If you have generated any leads online, congratulations! 90% of people who try internet marketing will never generate a lead.  If your on this site then I’m glad you’ve decided to not be part of that statistic.

A problem I then started to have was, “how do I talk to my online leads?”  I want to be able to help these people and now they are looking to me for guidance.  What’s important to understand is that you must be prepared and in a position to help them.  First ask yourself, “how can I help people,” & “am I prepared to be a leader for these people and am I confident I can lead them to fulfilling their dreams with home based business.”  If you are 100% sold that you can help them by having their own home based business, teaching them how to market online or offline, and supporting them to the promised land than talking to your leads is a breeze.  It becomes a matter of not what to say but instead I find myself asking “Do I want to work with this person?”  You can help anyone by getting a home based business, but also the problem is ANYONE can have a home based business because of the low barrier to entry.  So as a leader ask yourself when talking to your leads, “do i want to work with this person and will they follow me?”  Think of it kind of like an interview, you need to qualify your leads, your building a powerful downline of distributors and you are looking for the best.

ok ok so enough of my rant. Lets get into what to say to your home based business leads.

What To Say To Online Leads

I’m going to give you a"how to talk to home based business leads"script and a few lines I use everyday when talking to my online home based business leads.  What I want you to keep in mind is this, if you are new to talking to your online leads remember its kinda like talking to girls for the first time.  You were nervous at first but the more you talk to them the more comfortable you felt and sooner than you know you are perfectly in the zone.

Me: “Hey________, it’s Ron Gelok how are ya!?
Prospect: good,
Me: I noticed you came through on my site at http://www.IncomeSilver.com and I was just giving you a call to see how I can help you out.
Prospect: I was looking for….or I needed help with…
“Guys right here, 99% of the time they are going to tell your right away what they are looking for. Some are looking for a way to make money or market online and in that case I refer them to My Lead System Probecause that’s where I learned. The other time is for my primary business and I am still calling them to see how I can help them out.

Your Job as a network marketer is to present information and solve problems.  But, in order for you to help people, you must sponsor them into your business.  You are going to be the one that provides value into others lives.  Find out how you can help them and what they need and provide the solution which is hopefully your business.

Other Lead Scripts To Talk To Your Home Based Business Leads

My style is to ask a lot of questions.  My sponsor Ray Higdon taught me that asking questions will reveal how you can help people.  Find out whats important to them and then show them a way they can accomplish what they want.

“Why are you open to a home based business?”

“What has recently changed in your life that has you open to a home based business?”

I look for people who want more.  Find those who are hungry, those who have more desire than excuses and you can’t help but build your home based business.

Did You Hear About The 20,345th New Attraction Marketer This Week?

home based business leaderEveryday it seems like new attraction marketers, branding experts, and home business coaches pop up to teach me.  Theres one big problem with all of this.  Who do you actually believe and trust?  Anyone can call themselves a coach or an internet marketer or whatever.  What is frustrating to me is all of these people creating cotent that isn’t from real world experience.  home business leaderHeres a funny example of what you see online, “I’m an attraction marketing internet marketing home business cunsultant coach here to give you the skinny on how to make 23984 leads a day sponsor 992 mike dillards while sipping margaritas at the beach.”  Whats funny is most online network marketers have never generated a lead online or if you have, have lists of less than 200 people.  Before following someone you may want to do some research or maybe call them on their claims.

There is nothing wrong with being a coach or trainer but, its not for everyone.  Before you can teach, help, or get duplication you must first achieve it yourself.  It may not be to fun to teach someone to ride a bike when you may have never ridden one?  If your going to teach people how to do network marketing you might want to be able to sponsor some reps consistently every week. If I want to teach duplication, I better have it and know how to create it(hint hint). 

Your most valuable asset is yourself.  Whats key here is that you focus on your own success first.  Once you have achieved a recognizable level of success then venture out to help others.  You may notice that I rarely provide internet marketing training and thats because I am still learning it.  You will notice that I provide a lot of info on Facebook and recruiting, like my post on how to turn 1 No into 5 new reps. I’m focusing on whats easy, duplicatable, and highly profitable before expanding into other mediums.  I know you know this but its better to be really good at one stategy and generate leads than to be ok at 5 strategies going on at the same time.  Sound familiar?

Increase Your Online Credibility

Unless you are the magic love child of Mike Dillard and Jonathan Budd chances are you didn’t pop out of the woom knowing how to do network or internet marketing(regardless of how many times you read magnetic sponsoring).  Working with credible people will help you to succeed.  Instantly be different than everyone else by calling yourself a Home Business Entrepreneur, work at home mom, or a home business dad.  Just be who you are and go through the learning process. 

Want the number 1 best way to prove your success?
Show it! Show some new reps with pictures on facebook! Flash some checks(careful not to make income claims for ur primary biz, thats actually illegal). Get Social Proof! Check out my fb profile as I frequently welcome new team members with pictures.  What is really the best is when a 3rd party points it out for you.  Its not the best if your the only one tooting your horn.

Often I find that people think they must be successful first in order for others to follow.  There is some truth to that however, getting into action, creating experiences you learn from, and growing your business is what everyone should be doing to move towards success.  Once you focus on what gets you paid in your primary mlm business the other aspects such as teaching, training, coaching, $$$, and opportunities to speak or brand yourself come naturally.
