How Quitting Smoking Helped me Grow my Home Based Business

I’m writing this post to share how quitting smoking helped me build my home based business and how it can help you to.  It seems strange that something so small could actually effect the way you operate, but it does.  The reality is that smoking cigarettes changes the way you think.  What do I mean?  When I was smoking I geared certain activities around smoking.  For example, if I was going to go see a movie I was thinking about if I could go because the movie is like 2-3 hours and if I go without my precious cancer sticks who knows what might happen!?  No but all kidding aside.  Your thinking about when you can have the next one, or how many you have left, or can you smoke at a certain place, or who you can and can’t smoke around.  It was draining on my life, my thinking, and my wallet.

Heres my Step by Step Plan for Quiting

1. Make a firm decision –I let others know about my decision to quit.  When you incorporate others in your vision it brings you power.  Let them know how serious you are and to keep the cigs away from you because you have stopped smoking.

2. Find a healthy oral Substitute – I still had that nicotine cravings though!  I was grinding my teeth, a little tense, and it was hard to not think about it or feel it.  Your body is used to having the cigarette in your mouth, thus conditioning yourself to smoke.  So trick yourself!  What I did was replace cigs with dum dum lollypops.  They last just as long, provide oral fixation, and they even look like a cig…ok, not really but it will help you.

3. Find a substitue for your mind – Now this is different from step 2.  If your mind is left to wander guess what you’ll think about?  So what I did is I consumed myself with a healthy activity.  Yours may be different than mine and thats fine this is what I did.  I rolled up my sleeves and went to work.  Smoking is a negative habit so why not replace it with a positive one.

step 3 is really the critical one.  Often times in my life now I forget to eat because I’m in action.  Now thats eating, and this worked for me with smoking as well.  Turn the work ethic on and starting calling more leads.  If you need help generating massive leads online I learned from this system.

What this did for me was free my mind of the bondage of cigarrette thinking.  This allowed me to focus on building with my team without distractions.  In network marketing we are always trying to improve ourselves.  Freeing yourself from this deadly habit will do wonders for you.  Smoking is a limitation on your life and you can be free, you are the only one that can do it though.
