How To Handle The Money Objection

network marketing business opportunityHow To Handle The Money Objection

Since the super bowl is right around the corner I think its great time to tackle some objections and teach you how to score touchdowns in your network marketing business opportunity. Recently its been expressed to me, “what do I say when they ask how much money are you making?” Another popular one is, “I don’t have the money for this?” These for newbies in a network marketing business opportunity is a deadly question!  The funny part is it’s probably the easiest objections to overcome. This past week I got this objection a lot for some reason and I’ll show you how I handle them.
If you understand the purpose of an objection it becomes a game for you. I was just at the World Series of Sales in New Orleans and learned that if you are getting a lot of objections its because there are holes in your presentation, no trust/relationship, or they are testing your confidence in what you are offering.  If you understand that, than any objection can be overcome. If you understand that, you’ll posture yourself differently and most likely get less objections.  Lets tackle my favorite objections. You can answer it differently every time so here are some lines I have fun with. I learned from these leaders.

How Much Money are You Making?

Prospect: How much money are you making?
Ron- Tell em what your making

Prospect: How much are you making?
Ron: I haven’t made much yet but I’m learning how to and I’m excited for the future.

Prospect: How much money are you making?
Ron: It’s not about how much money I’m making because you can’t spend my money.
Ron: Great question, how much money do you see yourself making with this?
Ron: Do you ask your boss at work how much money he makes? I think what you’re really asking me is, is this opportunity real and how much money can you make.

You can look at our company income disclosure where it documents that the average 5 star makes $210,000 a year and the average successful part timer makes $XYZ a month. You can choose to be anywhere in between, or choose to fail, or choose to pass completely. What would you do with another 2000 a month? How would that change your life? Would it make sense that we first not worry about getting you to $200,000 but we first put together a plan to get you to $2000 a month?

network marketing business opportunity, money objectionInfamous “I don’t have any money.”
Prospect:  I don’t have any money
Ron:  How does that feel? Well if you don’t have an extra $500 laying around don’t you think its time you do something about it? This at least gives you the opportunity to make that. I mean if don’t plan on making at least $500 to recoop your business than this is probably not for you.

Some of you are wondering, why don’t you just tell them how much money you are making?  To be honest, its illegal to make income claims in network marketing.  I don’t make the rules but I sure as heck follow them.
As you do more 3way calls you skills will improve.  For now, you don’t have to even know this stuff.  Until you are one of the higher ranks in your company you should not be doing 3way calls(unless you really want to, GO FOR IT!).  Rely on your upline leader and just don’t say anything on the call, I mean nothing, if you open your mouth while im talking to your prospect on a 3 way it decreases the likelyhood of them coming onboard. This is because your prospect is subconsciously asking themselves, “can I do what JimBob is doing?” If your prospect thinks they have to know how all the ins and outs of a comp plan or how the product is made or something not relevant they wont join.  But if they think oh I can just do what JimBob is doing and get my prospects to talk to Ron on the phone that’s pretty stinkin easy!
