Power of Words

The power of words is an incredible creative force that we underestimate.  The Bible is the biggest advocate and source for today’s teaching and mindset training. The book shares how just like God created the world by speaking it into existence we have a similar power to shape our life with the creative power of our words.  Join me today as we take a look at a Biblical mindset training for entrepreneurs where we will learn how we can use our words to speak life, or death into reality and see both kinds of fruit manifest.

Power of Words

We have been created in the image of God, God is a creator, we are also creators on a smaller level.

Why do we do affirmations? Why do a lot of successful people repeat back to themselves the way they want to their lives to look?

Romans 4:17 As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Ro 4:17: The phrase, “and calleth those things which be not as though they were,” is referring to the instance Paul had just cited when God changed Abram’s name to Abraham (Ge 17:5). According to Strong’s Concordance, the name Abram means “high father,” and the name Abraham means “father of a multitude.” The Lord changed Abram’s name to Abraham one year before the birth of Isaac, thus confessing that Abraham was the father of a multitude before it happened in the physical.

This illustrates God’s faith. God says things are so before there is physical proof that they are so. The same thing was done at creation (Ge 1). God spoke everything into existence, and then it was so. He spoke light into existence and then four days later created a source for that light to come from (Ge 1:3 and 14-19).

God has given us the power to create with faith-filled words (Pr 18:20-21, see note 4 at Mr 11:14 and note 4 at Mr 11:23). If we are going to operate in God’s kind of faith, we have to learn to call those things that are not as though they were.

What To Speak?

Remember Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the p"power of words"lans I have you for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, but to give you a Hope and a Future!”

2 Corinthians 4:13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak,”

You want to sit and be still and wait upon God and ask him, “God what is your will for my life, what is it that you would like.” God is not some kind of control freak or angry father in any way that wants something just for him. He loves you, he has an amazing incredible plan for each and everyone of us that’s custom tailor made.

“Well Ron that hasn’t happened yet, I been waiting for 32 years for xyz.”

Saying a statement like that I recognize your feelings and your pain. Delay is not defeat. Faith is something we must have in order for the creative power of the tongue to work.

James 5:7-8 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.

IF you wait upon the lord and you just listen and find out what the word for your life is and where he wants you. YOU CAN NOT FAIL

Luke 1:36 “For no word from God will ever fail.”

You must speak faith into existence! Use the creative power of your tongue to speak the promises of God. Jesus spoke to the storm and the waters came to peace, jesus said to the lame man rise up and walk, jesus told demons to go and they left people, the disciples did the same thing! Peter and john said to the begger, “silver and gold have I not but what I do have I give to you! Rise up and walk in the name of jesus!” Instantly the man was healed and went around on his newfound strength in his legs.

Believe first in your heart and then speak. If you are not in a place where you can believe yet pray, “God help me believe, show me your love, I want a relationship with you, im tired of religion I want the real you! Show me your ways, teach me, mentor me, help me believe in you and the promises you have for me!”

Luke 6:45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Which feels better and is more satisfying to ourselves and to others to say? Something positive or something negative?

Remember when you were a kid and mom or dad would say, “if you can’t say anything nice don’t nothing at all.” Well mom was right

Mark 7:15 “It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.”

Luke 6:45 says for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks!

Proverbs 18:20-21 “From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

So What Happens If We Speak Death, Curses, Or Negativity?

Lets look at what happens when Jesus himself spoke these things…

Mark 11:13-14 Seeing at a distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if perhaps He would find anything on it; and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14He said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” And His disciples were listening.

20 As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots. 21And Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” 22And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

This is powerful man, it works both ways! This is proof, this is evidence of the creative power of your tongue.

Zecheriah the father of John the Baptist story Luke 1

Why was his mouth shut!? He would have spoke negatively and canceled out the promise of God.

That’s right God has nothing but Good promises and things for us. He takes away the bad and brings new.

BUT we can reject those promises with our tongue, with our words. I believe that if Zecheriah was able to speak he would have canceled it out by rejecting what God declared to him through that angel.

Luke 1:18-20 Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.” The angel said to him, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.”

Now, The power of what we believe in our hearts and what we speak from our mouths is clearly demonstrated all over the bible. Today this has just been a few examples to illustrate this powerful life changing principle.

Action steps

  1. Wait upon the lord for direction and guidance
  2. When you hear believe and move forward in faith
  3. Speak into existence what you feel/believe is Gods plan for you (you will have clear direction if you do step 1)
  4. Remember this verse, as this process may be knew to you. This is a step of faith and is a different way of doing life, business, and everything. Trust God for he will never leave you nor forsake you and he is ALWAYS faithful. He will complete the good work he started in you. So remember this verse…Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
