Recruit Friends and Family Script

Script: Recruit Friends and Family

"recruiting friends and family"When we get started in network marketing we are taught to make our list and prospect our friends and family.  I don’t actually agree with going after your friends and family with the angle of gaining new distributors.  When I show up to a pizza shop for the first time I am more likely to buy a slice of pizza then I am start my own pizza shop.  In today’s blog post I give you a script to recruit friends and family into customers that is highly effective and non threatening.  At the end of this post I also provide additional scripts that you can use to grow your distributor and customer base.

Sponsor Friends and Family Script

Do not treat your friends and family like pieces of meat to sponsor into your MLM deal.  The best approach for the people that love and care about you is to invite them to support you by becoming a customer.  It is very non threatening and just makes sense.  When someone opens a traditional business they invite you to a grand opening and you can show your support by purchasing a product, its unlikely that you will also want to be a business owner or partner with your friend or family member at first glance.  These approach was first taught to me by network marketing industry trainer Lisa Grossman.

"Direct Sales Script"Customer Script for Friends and Family

This is the best way to start and launch your business whether your friends and family are local, over the phone, or at a “home meeting.”

You: “I just started my own business and I am really excited about it.  I believe that I have a great product and I am expecting to do very well.  I would love to start things off great and I need your help. Can you support me try out my product and let me know what you think? I would love for you to be one of my first customers. Can you support me in this?”

Pretty simple and straight forward.  If your friend or family member is not willing to support you this way, DO NOT get upset with them or chase, beg, or bug them to join/buy; that is no way professional.  Amateur network marketers chase, beg, and bug and as a professionals we must hold ourselves to a higher standard. Simple respond by thanking them and not losing any of your personal excitement about your venture. I hope you have enjoyed and gained some perspective before you try to recruit friends and family.

This is so professional and does not show you been needy or desperate at all…thanks for the script…I know this a great script for a product based program…how would word this script for a service based mlm program?

Hey Iroko, the script will work exactly the same for products and services. Just be aware that if your prospect has no need for a service it probably be wise to go with the opinion respect approach I share here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMlqwzHk8XE&index=10&list=PLLP3L9yUdO-bbp0z8zv1pVrZvrM7irGsh

Ron, this is a great strategy. Definitely makes sense to ask friends and family for support rather than to be a business partner. Thanks!
