What Does God Think of Your Home Based Business?

A Christian Perspective on Network Marketing

Do you believe that what you are doing is in accordance for your purpose and plan on this earth?  This post has been on my mind and a draft in my blog for a long time.  This is simply my personal christian perspective on Network Maketing. !WARNING!  You may or may not agree or like what I have to say but let me know by commenting below. This blog post is not for additional business or to recruit people or to convert you to christianity its just a simple christian man’s point view on the industry and thats it.  Have you ever thought about what God thinks about network marketing or mlm business?

If you are someone who sees or feels that home based business is unethical.  Thats understandable because I thought that as well before I understood what I know now.  Here is what I found…

Have you ever researched to find out who was the world’s greatest network marketer?  I’ll give you a hint…

  • He recruited 12 frontline distributors
  • Regularly performed trainings
  • Experienced rejection
  • Turned those 12(well really 11 in the end since Judas quit, even Christ had some attrition lol) into a massive world wide downline of hundreds of millions…

Now if y"Christian network marketing leader"ou think about it, you’ll notice that Christ built his ministry the same way network marketers build their business!  Jesus worked together with his disciples/team. Ok now listen to this, christ’s first four disciples were some fishermen he prospected while walking beside the Sea of Galilee.  He saw two brotheers, Simon Peter and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the lake and Jesus said, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Mathew 4:18-19 The picked up their nets and followed him.

Christ taught his disciples to be fishers of men, not money.  Now the bible says that you do his will and the desires of your heart will be added unto you.  Im not saying that God is like a paycheck or an ATM machine, cause he’s not.  The Bible does say in Mathew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”  I do trust the Lord to meet all of my needs regardless of the economy, my bank account statement, my company, my debt, my sins, and my mistakes.

Christ taught his disciples his message and what he came to do and it spread throughout the world. His disciples then duplicated!  They went out to the corners of the world preaching the messaging.  Kind of like how we are spreading the message of freedom with home based business.

I personally am a born again christian and believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again to pay for our sins.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Christ’s business is souls and network marketers business is people.  What I love about both is they are both opportunities to create a life that most only dream about.  I don’t know about you but I am not someone whose life is NOT meant to be average or vanilla.  We are here to lives of abundance, prosperity, and freedom.    In both we are approaching people the same way, we want to help others and we have something incredible to share with them.  I don’t wear my religion on my sleeve but being in network marketing you talk to people who sometimes are in dire straights, maybe home business can’t help them, but I know who can.

If you have other questions about God and your network marketing business comment below and I’d be glad to answer.

Make it an awesome day!

This is very good!I love the correlation.Jesus was a good networker and I agree with your point here.I believe the company I am with would make God smile because of the usefullness of the tools as well as a great residual income.I don’t wear my religion on my sleeve but I hope by my actions and words people can see Christ in my heart.

Even Christ dealt with attrition! That’s a big lesson within your post right there. He knew his target market (in Christ’s time it was within the culture to preferably follow a calling to help others over working at their job) and knew that one of his disciples would eventually betray him and he did it anyway because of the greater purpose it served.

The question/issue that I have some Christians take with MLM is that it’s a money hungry industry and that isn’t Christ like. Which makes me wonder, why do some Christians think that God wants them to suffer and be poor and struggle all their lives? I would think that “On Earth as it is in Heaven” would mean that we are meant to live happy lives on Earth. I can do that in MLM, through helping people get out of their desperate situations like I got out of mine.

@Stephanie Deneke – You are right stephanie! Its pretty funny how that happens though. In order to build a large team in networking marketing we need to understand that it is about the team and supporting and helping them and you can’t build big money without helping lots of people.

Stephanie your awesome! share your story with others, who knows who you might inspire!

    Ron,

My wife and I were talking about this very topic the other day.

I must say, you nailed it on the head. Christ died for all of us and for all things. He defeated death on the Cross. Poverty is just a form of death just a very slow one. My belief is that Christ is OK with us having money and in abundance. The thing he doesn’t want is for money to have our hearts that’s HIS. I heard a minister say one time “Don’t use people to get things (money), use things (money) to get people. “Attraction Marketing at its best”

In fact the very first place in scripture where God Blesses anyone is in Gen 12:1-2 v1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: v2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

The primary reason for the blessing (according to verse 2) is to bless others.

Ron you have blessed me by writing this blog post.

This is great … Jesus was the best partner and networker … look how He duplicated the message … there is a training manual that everyone is supposed to follow and the message is being duplicated 2,000 years later … that is a great team :) Steven K. Scott in his book, “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” talks about the humanity of Jesus and not just the Divinity … the subtitle for the book is “Secrets of Unparalleled Success and Unshakable Happiness from the Life of Jesus”

Such a cool post! As a Christian, it is so important to be able to say without hesitation that what we do glorifies God. Ethics, morality and honesty are must. I believe we can set a new standard for our industry and facilitate a paradigm shift in the mind of the public that we are professionals and we DO have a better way!

Cool post, I love how you can read the same thing at a different point in your life and get a completely new meaning for it.

I guess that’s why it’s not a waste of time to read something you’ve already read.

What I got from this is that you must care about your people, like Jesus did. Like Gandhi did. Like all great leaders have.

If you can do that you can change lives, develop leaders, enjoy abundance and help others do it too.

    Hi Ron,
Your post is awesome, love it! Network marketing is truly an ethical and honest form of business! What other form of business do you get compensated for other helping people be more successful than yourself? I enjoy it so much, it brings so much satisfaction! Keep up the great work!

Great post Ron. I am currently bringing the teachings of the Bible to the forefront of my network marketing business. I preach sermons that tie into attraction marketing. I love taking attraction marketing and putting it on a bigger scale of love.

    Ron,

I think this was a great blog post. I never thought about how Jesus “recruited” the 12 disciples just like a network marketer recruits distributors.

Thank you so much for sharing!

Unfortunately, Jesus’ 12 disciples died very harshly in their ministries. And I believe network marketers dream to live in luxury if not comfort. If the network doesn’t work out for them, they will look for other opportunities. Would network marketers die for their business or even their companies. How are Jesus and Network Marketers similar?

@A. Tsang – Great comment and question! I agree that network marketers and Jesus may not have that much in common. However, the way Jesus grew his ministry/message is very similar to network marketing. For example, Jesus shared his message with the disciples and the disciples shared it with others which eventually grew into millions of worldwide believers. Furthermore, Jesus said to the fishermen come follow me and they chose to and became his disciples. During this period, they learned by example. He built them, empowered them, and taught them how to do his work. In network marketing, we build, empower, and teach people how to share the message of financial freedom and achieve this in an individual’s own life.

Although it is well known and obvious that are many paths to financial freedom, the disciples believed that there is only one path to heaven. Which is why they worked so hard, and were willing to die to get the message of Jesus out.

I hope a network marketer does not die for his business or company! I understand that some network marketers are so passionate and believe in their company/business so much that they will stick with it for years despite not making any money or growing their business. However, this is not nessecarily the best decision for a network marketer. If their business is still not growing, it may be because of the leadership, support, training, pay plan, mindset, external factors, or other factors not listed here. Or perhaps its just not his/her vehicle and should try something else that he/she would be more capable of learning and doing. If you or anyone else reading this post is currently not experiencing business and personal life success/growth, I will be more than happy to help you. Just email me at gelokron@gmail.com

    Hello Ron,

Is there a way I could call you and ask some specific questions?
My husband and I pursued a mlm for almost 3 yrs with abysmal results…now my husband
who was for the mlm is now saying it is unbiblical for me to even pursue it at all.

The friend who got us involved is now in another that is product based, but I don’t want to be abandoned by my husband and friend again…pretty disillusioned…
